Our Approach

Why your treatment plan matters more than the label

Pain rarely has a single cause, and it rarely needs a single treatment. The question isn't whether you need a chiropractor or a physiotherapist. It's what combination of skills will get you better, fastest.

Multiple Disciplines, One Clinic

Chiropractic, physiotherapy, osteopathy and sports massage working together under one roof. Your practitioner treats what they can and refers internally when a colleague's expertise would help more.

Root Cause, Not Symptoms

A painful knee might stem from a stiff hip. A tension headache might start in the upper neck. We assess the full chain to find where the problem actually begins.

Active Rehabilitation

Hands-on treatment gets you out of pain. Exercise keeps you there. Every treatment plan includes targeted rehabilitation to build lasting strength and prevent recurrence.

A shoulder that won't lift overhead might involve a restricted thoracic spine, a tight rotator cuff, and weak scapular stabilisers. Treating just one of those gets short-term relief at best.

That's why Costa Health brings chiropractors, physiotherapists, osteopaths and sports massage therapists together in the same clinic. Your practitioner assesses the full picture and refers internally when needed. No waiting lists. No starting from scratch with a new provider.

Common Questions

Injury & treatment FAQs

What is the difference between chiropractic and physiotherapy?
Chiropractic and physiotherapy both treat musculoskeletal pain, but they approach it differently. Chiropractors focus primarily on spinal alignment and joint mechanics, using specific adjustments to restore proper movement and reduce nerve irritation. Physiotherapists take a broader rehabilitation approach, combining hands-on treatment with progressive exercise programmes designed to rebuild strength and prevent recurrence. At Costa Health, both disciplines work under one roof. Your practitioner will assess your condition and recommend the approach, or combination, that suits you best.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor or physiotherapist in Spain?
No. In Spain, you can book directly with a chiropractor or physiotherapist without a GP referral. This applies to both residents and visitors to the Costa del Sol. At Costa Health, you can book online or contact either clinic directly. If during your assessment we identify something that needs further investigation, your practitioner will arrange the appropriate referral.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the condition. Acute injuries, such as a recently sprained ankle or a sudden episode of back pain, often improve within four to six sessions. Chronic conditions that have built up over months or years typically need eight to twelve sessions. Your practitioner will give you an honest estimate during your first appointment and review progress regularly. Costa Health does not believe in open-ended treatment plans with no clear goal.
Which treatment is right for my condition?
That depends on the underlying cause. Back pain, for example, might respond best to chiropractic adjustments, physiotherapy-led rehabilitation, osteopathic manual techniques, or a combination. The same applies to neck pain, joint stiffness and sports injuries. Your first appointment at Costa Health includes a thorough assessment. Your practitioner will explain which approach they recommend and why. If a different discipline would serve you better, they will refer you to the right colleague within the clinic.
Can you treat children?
Yes. Costa Health offers paediatric assessment and treatment for babies, children and adolescents from birth to 18. Techniques are gentle and age-appropriate. For infants, treatment involves light fingertip pressure. For older children and teenagers, assessment may include movement analysis, postural correction and sport-specific rehabilitation. Our practitioners will always be honest about whether treatment, monitoring, or referral to a specialist is the right next step.
